The K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management (KJSIM), previously known as the K. J. Somaiya Institute of
Management
Studies and Research, is an independent business school in the Mumbai neighbourhood of Somaiya Vidyavihar. The
K. J. Somaiya Trust and Somaiya Vidyavihar founded the institute back in 1981. KJSIM aims to instil skills in

Selection Process at KJSIM
In the first stage, KJSIM shortlists applicants as per their scores in CAT/ CMAT/ XAT/ NMAT/ GMAT. These
applicants are then asked to appear for case analysis/ case-based discussion and personal interview
rounds. Consequently, the merit list is finalised using the applicants’ aggregated results of
the
entrance exam, job history, previous academic records, achievements, and performance in CA-PI.
KJSIM - Interview Experiences
Case-Based Topics at KJSIM
Case Analysis (CA) round is held during the Personal Interview. In this, the candidate is given a case to read
and contemplate for five minutes. The case is generally 300-400 words long. There are a few questions based on
each case. A candidate gets 5 minutes in total (3 minutes to answer the questions and two minutes to participate
in the panel discussion).
CA round is of nearly 10 minutes. Initially, a case-based group discussion used to be conducted. Here are some

Questions Asked at KJSIM’s Interviews
The applicants are scrutinised by a panel of 2-4 people, on their topics of interests, motivations, past
experiences, and knowledge. The majority of the questions asked in the interviews pertain to current news
events. Every interview goes on for between 10-20 minutes, and the CA topic is usually given to the candidates
