The selection process at IIM C consists of essay writing (WAT), followed by personal interview round. This year, only Personal Interviews were conducted.

Questions: Which all calls do you have? What are your views on the economic survey for this year? Did you study business statistics in the fourth semester? What were the topics that you studied? Few questions based on stats- correlation, regression, variance, co-variance,etc. What are the measures of dispersion? The panelists gave 2 questions based on Permutation & Combination and probability. Name some leaders associated with farmers protest. Which 5 rivers pass through the state of Punjab? What is the current price of NIFTY ? How many stocks are there in the NIFTY Index?  How do we calculate gross profit, operating profit, net profit ?  What would be the top and bottom line in financial statements of a bank?

Questions: Introduce yourself. Please try to finish it by 2 mins. (Candidate speaks about his project on cricket ball swings). Can you elaborate more as these are established facts? Explain the experimental setup? Is this your final year project? Or you did something else? So you did it computationally? Tell us about about Finite Element Analysis? Where is the fuel stored in an aircraft? In such a high altitude there is such low temperature. How do the wings not freeze or fuel don't freeze? Why did you leave ISI (Indian Statistical Institute) to join IIT? (mentioned in the candidate’s form). How did you decide what to pursue? You had so many options and you were so young. So you are passionate about Aerospace? Tell me about space technologies. What is the use of 3D printing? Are you aware that engines can be 3D printed? What are the differences in marketing policies between SpaceX and blue origins? Which program have you applied?

Questions: Why do you want to do an MBA? Why do you want to go for an MBA without having any experience in the engineering field? There are 3 packets of 10 balls each of 3 different colours. Now all the balls are put together in a single packet. Now, you have to pick up 6 balls randomly from the packet blindly i.e. without seeing at the colour of the balls you are picking. What is the probability that you picked up all the 3 colours? Questions based on hobbies and interests. As the candidate is a Tech enthusiast therefore, questions on recent Technology evolutions. When the candidate mentions Apple M1 chip, then they asked about what is special, how it is different and some related questions about Apple? Questions related to Farmer’s Protest? What do you know about IIM Calcutta and why are you interested in our institution?

Questions: Tell us about yourself. Why do you consider yoga a spiritual activity? You have mentioned dance as your hobby. Give me an estimate of the dance market in India? Take any form and give some estimate. Is this the dance market of India?  The interviewer gave one basic probability question? Gave another problem which was a bit calculation intensive?  What do you know about IIM C? What is Mecca? So,Mecca is in the right direction?
