Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (2021 - 22)

Department of Management Studies (DoMS) is a part of IIT Madras, counted among the premier institutes of India. IIT-M is the first IIT to start streams other than engineering. DoMS extends a two-year full-time MBA programme, that focuses on the core functional areas of management. It shortlists candidates based on their composite score, consisting of CAT score, work experience, past academic performance, academic and gender diversity. Finally, the interview round and overall profile of the candidate is considered while making the admission list.

Interview Experiences
A panel of two members probed the candidates on their work experience, general awareness, hobbies, and college preferences. There were rarely any questions on academics, and most of the candidates found the interview manageable. Some were also asked questions related to their hometown and family. Questions:
  • Tell me two things about yourself.
  • Tell us about your hometown.Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was from your town. Do you know about him? Who was his successor President? What were the achievements of APJ Abdul Kalamas a scientist?
  • Tell me about your hobbies
  • Who is the current RBI governor? What is his role?
