When applying to a reputable MBA college, you are expected to qualify the Common Admission Test (CAT). After
that, you will have to go through the final selection rounds to get accepted. Therefore, if you anticipate
getting a call from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Rohtak, prepare for the next stages of the
competition. It may appear easier than it is to compete with chosen applicants with different backgrounds and
experiences.
The goal of the PGDM/MBA programme selection process is to figure out if an applicant's educational history
and professional experience are a good match for the intense academic requirements of the course. Candidates are
evaluated based on how well they demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the affiliated
field.
About IIM Rohtak
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Rohtak, came into existence in 2009, as one of the six new IIMs.
While the full-time and regular programmes at IIM Rohtak are the most well-known, the institution also offers a
wide range of long- and short-term options for those interested in obtaining a world-class education in
management. The institute has been named among the top five IIMs for excellence in research areas. Apart from
the full-time Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management, IIM-R extends executive, doctoral, fellowship, and
integrated programmes.
Selection Process at IIM Rohtak
In the initial stage, IIM Rohtak shortlists candidates as per their CAT percentile. In the second stage, these
candidates appear in the personal interview round. The interview stage also includes an
extempore round. And finally, the admission list is drawn up after due consideration of the CAT score, PI score,
gender diversity and academic history of the candidates.
Until 2019-20, the screening process also had an essay writing stage.
Extempore Topics at IIM Rohtak
During the interview, the candidates are asked to speak on the spot on a specific topic. Every candidate is
given less than a minute to think and two minutes to talk about it. Current events and other broad themes serve
as inspiration for these topics. The candidates were given the following extempore topics during past
admissions:
