The selection process at NMIMS consists of a Case Discussion followed by a Personal Interview.

Duration: 5 minutes for reading, 12 minutes for discussion, 3 minutes for conclusion
- Why does Amazon want to maintain its position as a leader in Indian E-commerce? (Some numbers about the same were given)
- Based on your recommendation, it has been decided that a UV radiation machine will be implemented in the company to increase productivity. The Environmental Quality Board has to deem the machine usable and ensure that levels are permissible. However, your superior feels that it is unnecessary to involve the Environmental Quality Board as it is of no use. What will be your stand?
- An extract was given on agricultural condition in India along with a comparison between India and US on agricultural factors (per hectare productivity, total productivity, total cultivable land, etc.). Give suggestions.
- Bill gates foundation has four options to aid monetarily
1st prize: 10 crore, 2nd prize: 2 crore, 3rd prize: 50000
Options are:
A. diagnosis kit for elephantiasis
B. water filtration machine
C. menstruation awareness and sanitary pads for free
D. mental health awareness and suicide prevention initiatives

Candidate Profile: B.Tech (Mechanical), Work Experience of 2 years
Why did you go all the way from Bhubaneswar to Burla to do engineering? You took a drop of a year between 12th and Engineering? And yet you landed up in VSSUT and no NIT or IIT? Then you got placed in Hindalco which you quit after two years to work with an NGO as a management trainee? Explain about your work at Hindalco. How did you go about it? What are your hobbies? Okay then tell me about two current affairs that you think matter. Elaborate about each topic at length. Why didn't Kyoto protocol work and why this could work? What is the difference between Quality controls and Quality Assurance? What is TQM? What is six sigma?

Candidate Profile: B.Tech (ECE), Work Experience in Tech Mahindra, freelance writer
Tell me about yourself. What did you do in Tech Mahindra? So did you do coding? Did you get through campus recruitment? Why did you leave your job? Do you read? What was the last book you read? Give me a critical analysis of Animal Farm. Not a summary but a critical analysis. So will you discontinue MBA if anything happens again? How was your IT job related to content writing? Why did you do it? Such drastically different domains? What tool? Do you want to continue this as a major career? Ok, now that you are a creative individual tell me why we should select you. Give me an out of box answer.

What is a LLP? You have 18 months of work experience; tell me something interesting about your work. (some cross-questioning) What would be your specialization? What do you know about marketing? What are the 7 Ps of marketing ? Why do you think online food ordering apps like Zomato are booming? in marketing terms? What are the recent trends in marketing? What do we call such type of marketing ? Your school was in news for wrong reasons (an accident happened in candidate’s school leading to a student’s death). If you were the marketing head, what would be your response to it? Explain me in marketing terms, what specific marketing techniques would you use? Are you aware of any product that might have done this type of marketing recently?
