Process
The process of selection at SCMHRD consists of 7-8 rounds consisting of WAT, Group Discussion, Group Exercise and Personal Interview.
Feedback - WAT
Duration: 30 minute
Technical WAT (for course in Business Analytics): 1 hour paper consisting of Statistical, Mathematical and computer programming language questions.
Common WAT (for both MBA and Business Analytics): 2 rounds to be completed in 30 minutes - Pictorial and general topic-based.
Pictorial WAT consists of two abstract pictures on which essay needs to be written. The 2 pictures need to be related in 120 words.
Topic-based WAT: Introductory and conclusion paragraphs are given. Candidates are asked to write the middle part to connect the two given paragraphs. Topics were given around the following themes:
- Whether philosophy should be introduced to a child or not?
- Sometimes, English is a very confusing language. (illustrated examples given of idioms)

- What is not to be worshipped
- Renaming a historical thing is like paying tribute to the history.
- Abolition of death penalty
Feedback – Group Exercise
Animated/Non-animated Video is shown for 30 seconds. Candidates are asked to relate it to a current happening and discuss on it. They need to identify the issue presented broadly and come up with the solution. Candidates may use the whiteboard.

Candidate Profile: B.Tech (IT), Work Experience of 2.5 years
Introduce yourself. Why MBA? Why SCMHRD? Why should we select you? (many behavioural questions were asked) So, how is IT sector contributing to the economy of India? Do you think it’s doing well? (few questions on current affairs) What other calls do you have?
(given a case study of a company going in loss- data and tables provided- 1 minute to think upon a strategy, 3 minutes to speak- Candidate was asked to come up with a feasible solution.)

Introduce yourself. Why MBA? Why don’t you get a work experience before MBA? How did you manage to lose this much amount of weight? How did you do it? (some more questions regarding the same) So, what skills do you have? What are your favourite subjects? What are your hobbies? Do you have other calls? Any questions for us?
