All India Management Association (AIMA) conducts MAT every year in February, May, September and December. Over 600 B-Schools across the country accept
MAT score for admissions to their management programs. MAT 2026 registration for the September session is ongoing. The application form was released on June 22, 2026, and the last date for registration is September 7, 2026, for PBT mode and September 14, 2026, for CBT mode. The exam will be held on September 13, 2026, through PBT mode and on September 20, 2026, through CBT mode, while the result will be released in the last week of September.

CBT MAT 2026: Key Features
The CBT MAT mode usually has a slightly later schedule compared to PBT. Here are the key features of CBT MAT that candidates should keep in mind:
- Candidates can appear for the MAT 2026 exam with ease, choosing between PBT and CBT modes offered by AIMA.
- To participate in the MAT exam, candidates need to meet specific requirements based on their chosen mode. Detailed information about these requirements is available on the official AIMA website.
- AIMA ensures the security and fairness of the examination process by employing advanced technologies and rigorous protocols.
- To assist candidates in their preparation, AIMA offers mock tests at nominal rates, enabling them to familiarize themselves with the exam pattern and enhance their performance.
CBT MAT 2026: Key Requirements
- Test-takers must fulfil these requirements to be eligible to appear for the CBT MAT 2026.
- Appear at the allotted test centre with a printed copy of the Admit Card and a valid photo identity proof (Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID, Driving Licence, etc.).
- Reach the test centre at least 60–90 minutes before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card.
- Electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, and any other gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
- Follow all instructions given by the invigilators at the test centre.
- The computer systems and necessary software will be provided by AIMA at the test centre.
The difficulty level of MAT is comparatively less than CAT, XAT, SNAP, and other such exams. The number of exam applicants increases every year. Further, there is no age limit to appear for the exam.
Some of the top B-schools such as the Department of Management Studies, IIT Madras, Great Lakes Institutes of Management Chennai, and Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Mumbai accept MAT scores, etc. The validity of the MAT score is one year. Since MAT is conducted after three months in a year, it provides a good chance for the aspirants to bag admission into the top MBA colleges.
